Rolling Meadows High School is seeking a dedicated and passionate Consumer Education Teacher to join our team. Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and effective instruction in Consumer Education, potentially including courses such as Personal Finance and/or ELL.
  • Directly teach essential consumer skills, financial literacy, and responsible decision-making.
  • Prepare students for success in managing their personal finances and navigating the consumer landscape.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans aligned with district curriculum and state standards in Consumer Education.
  • Utilize a variety of instructional strategies and technologies, including 1:1 iPad instruction, to meet the diverse needs of learners.
  • Employ a variety of assessment practices (formative, summative, selected response, extended written response, performance-based) to maximize student learning.
  • Demonstrate a wide variety of instructional methods and practices to meet individual student needs.
  • Demonstrate a willingness to work with students of diverse cultural and academic backgrounds.
  • Pursue professional growth and stay current with best practices in business education.
  • Follow directives of the Career and Technical Education division head.

Qualifications:

  • State of Illinois Professional Educators License (PEL) with a Senior HS endorsement in Business Education or Family Consumer Sciences.
  • Academically prepared to teach Consumer Education.
  • EL endorsement preferred.
  • Must be able and willing to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all learners.
  • Must work effectively within our Professional Learning Team model.
  • Must be well-versed in a wide variety of assessment practices that maximize student learning.
  • Demonstrate a wide variety of instructional methods & practices to meet individual student needs.
  • Support building extracurricular activities as a coach or sponsor.
  • Demonstrate a willingness to work with students of diverse cultural and academic backgrounds.
  • Pursue professional growth.
  • Follow directives of Career and Technical Education division head.
