Eckerd Early Intervention and Prevention Services are designed to increase social competence among elementary school youth while reducing factors that place youth at risk for involvement in drug and alcohol abuse and juvenile delinquency. This position will be located in Cocoa, FL. Purpose Responsible for overall management of early intervention and prevention programs, including operation plans; contractual compliance; fiscal management; fundraising; supervision of staff and volunteers; program direction; development, implementation and evaluation of policies, procedures, short and long term goals; all data collection activities; quality improvement practices; budget management and fund development; and meeting program outcome objectives. Duties * Identify, create and maintain an integrated program for the targeted population and place emphasis on creating partnerships among the youth and their families, schools and community. * Oversee the recruitment, screening, appointment and orientation of positive mentors. * Collaborate with community groups and representatives on recruitment strategies for potential mentors. * Provide for ongoing training and supervision of Program staff and mentors to ensure that aspects of the program are delivered as intended and in a manner that benefits each recipient of service. * Plan, arrange and deliver family/community involvement activities designed to stabilize youth's daily functioning. * Ensure the accurate and timely collection, documentation and reporting of assessment and evaluative data. * Participate in ongoing professional training and in-service education in the areas of prevention and early intervention strategies for youth and families at the onset of trouble. * Design and maintain culturally sensitive prevention services. * Develop and maintain collaboration between EYA and local school boards to ensure early identification of youth possible. * Establish and ensure cooperative relations with targeted service schools. * Ensure the development and delivery of curriculum to target youth consistent with program goals and objectives. * Provide ongoing training and support to mentors. * Ensure match and assign appropriate mentor to each youth receiving services. * Monitor frequency and content of the mentor/buddy meetings. * Establish advisory board and meet with the board regularly. * Involve parents in initial planning stages of the program. * Provide parent support groups/events as stipulated in contract. . * Provide frequent contact with parents through phone calls, home visits or newsletters. * Maintain database for use in tracking both implementation and outcome data.
