Purpose of the Job/Principal Responsibilities:
The primary purpose of this position is to provide leadership in the development of goals and quality instruction within a subject-area department. In addition, to implement appropriate teaching strategies that assist each student in achieving their academic potential, while also providing superior customer service to all internal and external customers of KVE.

Typical activities include:

• Assist online instructors (adjunct/part-time/full-time) in pedagogical strategies to improve student achievement.
• Coordinate departmental meetings and communicate with the team on a biweekly basis.
• Recommend curriculum offerings and appropriate teachers for instructional assignments to principal.
• Review status of departmental objectives and staff development activities.
• Organize team activities to facilitate cohesiveness.
• Implement curriculum as prescribed by KVE using activities that contribute to a climate where students are actively engaged in meaningful learning experiences.
• Be available to assist students via phone, email and instant messenger
• Identify, select, and modify instructional resources to meet the need of students with varying backgrounds, learning styles, and special needs.
• Communicate with stakeholders in a courteous, timely and professional manner.
• Respond promptly (within same day or 24 hours) when returning telephone calls and replying to correspondence, emails, instant messages, and faxes.
• Maintain effective and efficient records.

A likely activities breakdown:
