Job Title: Upper School Physics/Astronomy Teacher (temporary) Company: Location: Seattle, WA Description: Upper School Physics / Astronomy Teaching Opportunity 3/4-Time, 6-8 Week Temporary Assignment (Oct ? Nov. 2010) Lakeside School, an independent coeducational day school located in North Seattle is currently recruiting for an experienced Physics & Astronomy Teacher to assume teaching and other school responsibilities for an individual out on paternity leave. This will be a full-time teaching position that will be 6-8 weeks in duration beginning in October and ending sometime in November. This position will be a temporary member of the Science department and will report to the department head. Responsibilities: ? Teach 2 sections of physics ? Teach 1 section of 11th & 12th grade Astronomy ? Participating in department and faculty meetings ? Participating in Upper and All School activities and meetings as requested Class syllabuses and teaching materials have been created and support will be provided on a weekly basis through team teaching meetings within the Science department. Requirements: This position requires a Bachelor?s degree in Physics or another physical science field. Equivalent content knowledge may be substituted for a degree. A graduate degree and experience teaching in an Upper/High School setting is preferred.
