Job Title: Instrumental Teaching Assistant - Assistant Band Teacher Company: Location: New York City, NY Description: Holy Cross High School in Flushing Queens is seeking an Instrumental Teaching Assistant to assist in teaching 3 high school bands. This part time position will assist 3-5 days per week and will require flexibility as the schedule for classes is based on a rotating schedule. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: ? Assist in basic conducting, including warming up the band, working with instrumental sections, and individual instruction ? Assist in assessing the musical ability of students in sectional groups and individually ? Execute administrative work including filing music and making copies ? Take daily attendance ? Assist the director at all band concerts QUALIFICATIONS: ? Experience in instrumental instruction (woodwind and brass instruments) and secondary education ? Experience in private and group instruction ?
