Responsibilities: ? Instruct up to 20 adult learners in the area of ABE/GED. ? Work with learners on activities related to their individual and collective goals. ? Plan lessons in advance for multi-level group using appropriate instructional materials and techniques for developing reading, writing, math and critical thinking skills ? Develop curriculum that includes themes relevant to students? lives, interests and work-related goals ? Promote student engagement and collaboration in learning ? Administer TABE assessments and GED predictor assessments ? Perform all related administrative duties and reporting such as: completing timesheets and makeup work plans for participants and submitting monthly reports to the program manager; daily interaction with case managers. Part-time Instructor for Adults: Specializing in Early Childhood and School Age Education Experienced trainers and technical assistance providers wanted to work with area child care and school age staff. Often we are asked to provide in-service training to staff and administrators and at other times we provide technical assistance (become a mentor) to programs or staff looking to make changes. We offer topics on a wide variety of topics such as child development, learning standards, incorporating academics into play, professionalism, healthy and safety. A successful candidate will have a minimum of an BA in education or a related field, experience working with children, experience working with adults, speaking to large groups, the ability to work well on their own, the ability/comfort traveling to remote locations in Philadelphia and surrounding counties (own transportation is necessary), the ability to check and respond to email, a firm understanding of developmentally appropriate practices (DAP) for young children and the ability to obtain a trainer number (PQAS).
